All the fish are cod, and once a year I try and go and do a weeks fishing in the fjords, as its becoming more and more of a struggle in the uk to catch anything.
I will miss the fishing there, but hopefully I have better things to come when I eventually get the green light to move here.

nice cods mate.. here's the biggest one I ever caught.. lol

Granted, they do grow a bit bigger up there in Scandinavia compared to here in Holland

You say you'll miss the fishing but I don't think it really compares to the offshore fishing in Oz though.. esp not variation wise

One thing I know I won't miss is the weather.

Nice cod mate, That water sure looks cold and crystal clear, you have much problem with the fish spooking from your outline while land based like that?

What species of fish do you get from the land based spot in the pic?

    Jack.

We were a bit naive the 1st time we went, soon learn't that the fish were in water alot deeper water or where there was a tide run. They can catch coalfish, halibut and haddock from the shores also I think.

Its the swim bladder, as that fish was caught using a perk in 700 foot of water.

A perk is a tubular piece of solid metal varying in lenghts, shapes and patterns.
You probably call it something else?
They are fished vertically over rough ground or wrecks.

Thanks mate, yeah if they're fished vertically, we'd call them a jig.
Depending how bid and heavy they are, you could also use them for spinning maybe, but then again you wouldn't have many pelagics over there.

    Jeff.
