Monster creature.. I got that email too. Despite it's size it's kind of sad to think it's been killed, would you eat a shark that big ? surely it would be full of mercury and other yuck ?

Yes it's unfortunate. No point crying over spilt milk though.
Think of how many precious dugongs and sea birds have been saved - that'll make you feel better

I heard Dave Downie on the radio yesterday talking about this shark and he mentioned he was the one who took the pic's. This shark would surely make a mess of your cast net.

Re: Brisbane River Bull Shark photos

Bullies can actually grow to over 12 foot. we've tagged two that were just on 10ft, and plenty around the size of the one in the pics, and the harmons pulled in a 3.6m a few years back - now THAT was a big girl! a shame to see this fish dead - they are very dopey when they come in and are over 150kg, very manageable. not much of a fight either on an 80 after their initial run, just a lotta dead weight. tigers on the other hand...

tailorboi, he was probably using 100lb mono on an 80, and either eel or a whole smaller ray for bait. 16 or 18/0's for hooks...dunno for sure. pm one of em they should tell you.

Dunno why, but as I've gottin' older neither snakes nor sharks give me a warm and fuzzy feeling any more.

Wouldn't go looking to harm them, just "not my favorite people"
