    Northpine fishing partner

Dose any one fish the Northpine dam or river, that would like too meet up for a fishing sesions and trade some info and skills. I have bait fished the two for about 15 years now im tring to use hard bodys and plastics with not much luck (mainly in the river) Cracked a code or three in the dam allready.

hey mate i wouldnt mind fishing with you, as im searching for my first bass in the dam at the moment, but i wouldnt suggest fishing there for a good couple of weeks, as the grass is overwelming and leads into the water a couple of metres, so that makes it hardser to fish and alot more snags.
and im not really free at the moment either lol. but we do well bait fishing there, yellas, spangles, cattys and lungfish.

yer i know where to look its just getting there at the right times and things, and something always comes up. last time i fished tehre i went bullockys, but thats the crappest place you could fish, the only one hit i got was at forgans cove and it ran me strait into the snag , but i have been told of this place where your basically guarenteed a big bass, but its up to me to get around there, i just havent been there yet.

    Re: Northpine fishing partner

I usually fish the dam most weekends, with my little fella. From about 5:30 to 9:30.
It would be good to catch up and have a fish. You do meet a lot of people out there.
I was thinking about going this Saturday morning if it's not raining.
As cammy said the grass is crazy out there, I haven't fished it for a few weeks now.
But I need a bass fix pretty bad.

PM me if you wanna catch up.

    Re: Northpine fishing partner

In relation to cammys post i do use lures and some plastics in the dam I have been fishing the dam with bait for years and oer the pased 6 months jumped on board with this lure craze, sure paid off.

I have not been to the npd latly as that bloody weed is costin me money in lures, plenty of snags in there so last weekend tryed dayboro for a bass or two. when i get there i realised the farmers had blockd off the walkin tracks up the river fished shallow and only got a few dew and spangles.

when that weed goes a bit we may all be able to hit the dam

    Re: Northpine fishing partner

Is great to see such an active community fishing NPD. I've not fished her yet - but she is my local, so I'm keen to start doing so. Was waiting for boating access again, but I guess I shouldn't wait for that (who knows when it will be) and should start getting some practice/experience from the shore.

Will pop back here when I find a spare day on a weekend (kinda henpecked to get some stuff done aroudn the house right now) to see who is getting out there. Love lure fishing, but have only really done it in salt and because I've not done much fishing in recent times since the soft plastics really took off, have no experience with those at all. Is that what most of you are using? (Sorry if a bit OT).

Maybe the the water below the wall will produce some fish. there are plenty off small bass and ocasional lage bellies and silvers. you have to be adventurous though but it pays off. If any one decides to fish here please release the fish as it dosnt get stocked to the next flood.

    Re: Northpine fishing partner

Huff. Are you allowed to fish the area below the wall. I thought that at most impoundments this area was a no go zone, due to the accumulation of fish trying to head upstream, but just hitting the wall.
