Sunshine Coast Tuna Chase 2008

It's on again Folks....
The Sunshine Coast saltwater Flyfishers are holing their 9th Annual Tuna Chase on April the 19th 2008
This is two day catch and release Long tail tuna tournament exclusively for flyfishing, the event is considered a largely social event with local and international entrants . There is no ego at these events and it is an open event that is open to all levels of flyfishermen/women .
The Tuna Chase is part of a three comp Tuna Circuit . Other Flyfishing Tuna Comps are run by the Hervey Bay sportsfishing club and the Bribie Island sportsfishing club , each event has its own unique flavour and for people competing in all three events special prizes apply.

We have some new rule changes guys.
You must have a longtail capture to place
Mac Tuna and all other species will now be used as a count back
EG , two longtail (5 points each) will beat 11 mac tuna (1 point each)
EG', two Longtail and a Mac tuna will beat two Longtail
A size limit of 50cm FL is now in place to eliminate any species confusion

Unfortunately we have postponed the tournament until the 18th and 19th of May . With a predicted 25 - 30 knts and a 3.5M swell we have to put safety first , as well as this our insurance will not allow us to give it a go. Make sure you pencil the dates in as we have some awesome prizes like a couple of fly rods , fly reels , fly lines and guide vouchers just to name a few , all these prizes are lucky door we have something like 30 or so lucky door prizes from major brand companies so everyone wins . See you at the bribie comp then two weeks later at the Sunny Coast comp
