    Hows it going mate

I cant speak for the shimano because i have never used them but I own 4 Tierras and love them

    For my bream
i am using a 1500 Tierra on a 1-3kg Berkley dropshot spooled with 6 lb braid

I also use 2x 2500 Tierras for my snapper fishing in the bay on 2-4kg Dropshots and a 4000 on a 6-10kg dropshot for offshore fishing

daiwa for sure, the spool on 1000 shimano's are too small. the new stradics look like an improvemtn on the old one however.

Re: Shimano Stradic OR Daiwa Tierra?

I bought a new stradic and love it, the drag is much better than on the old model.

Re: Shimano Stradic OR Daiwa Tierra?

It's worth keeping in mind that the Tierra has the exact same drag as the sol. Way better than the Stradic in my opinion.

Question Re: Shimano Stradic OR Daiwa Tierra?

This is a good topic for discusion, but it's a bit early to have a 'Poll' including the Stradic, is it the new or old Stradic? they are two completely different reels, and if it's the new one it needs time to get out there and used for somebody to have an opinion .

From all reports the Fireblood reels are not worth the money. They are all bling factor. Way better options out there. Basically just a re badged Sephia. The rods are nice though.

Re: Shimano Stradic OR Daiwa Tierra?

    go the daiwa mate.
I havent bought shimano for ages now...
As FA said the Tierra has the same drag as the sol anyways.
the thing with the sols is 2000 is the smallest so if you want real small go tierra.
They are on ebay for not much more than $120
good luck mate.....once u go daiwa u wont go back
    Cheers,

Re: Shimano Stradic OR Daiwa Tierra?

I have both Stradic 1000 for bass, bream, flattie etc, and Tierra 3000 for Jacks and now impoundment barra (handled well). The Tierra packs a fair punch drag wise and looks pretty sexy! The stradic has always been an old faithfull smooth as silk after years of salt/fresh work.

Cant fault either, same quality IMHO, just different brands. you wont be dissapionted either way.

Re: Shimano Stradic OR Daiwa Tierra?

Spend a little more & look at the Caldia Kix .... It feels much better in the hand , a little smoother ...... + a better drag adjustment
    Its $80 well spent IMO
I have the JDM (Caldia... blue body) in a 2500 ..... & side by side , there is a noticeable difference
    Nagg

PS ..... IMHO the Stradics (& Sustains) have always been too highly geared to fish finesse SPs & HBs
