I do quite a lot of lure fishing for bream and one of the reels I use is the 1000 Stradic. I also use the Daiwa Sol's and similar. The Stradic wins the race because I get less tangles. My first impressions was that it was too small but I've had mine for 3 years and love it. The Daiwa's are usually my favoured spin reel but the new spool design and the worm oscillation is a winner.

tierra for sure i like the feel of diawas spin range better not too keen on the balanced almost weighted feel of the shimanos
just got a 3500 and i am gonna get the old man a 2500
you just cant go wrong off thebay for them at the moment 120ish delivered from the states boatingcf are selling them for like 230

Loophole ,you are right,I need to look at the date first posted next time, he is probably retired and on the pension by now

Got both and like both, but i would simply go the daiwa because you get a spare spool and you dont with the shimano. I have braid on 1 spool for plastics outside and mono for beach fishing on the other huge bonus imo
