    Thumbs up Lake Borumba 18-09-07

Was lucky enough to get an invite from a good mate Craig to fish Borumba today.
Hadnt been there for a while so was very keen to hit the dam again.
Got to the Dam about 10.00am......Yes gentlemen hours...... and
started off chasing some Toga we could see cruising the surface....We threw everything at them for poppers, spinnerbaits, bettlespins and tiny unweighted paddletails and gulp shrimp......They just werent interested...
This continued throughout the day and we saws heaps of Toga just cruising around but werent feeding and were not interested in anything at all.
Not sure whether thet are breeding or have just bred but I havent ever seen them so uninterested and flighty.

So we moved away from them and decided to chase Bass....which turned out to be quite a good move.We found some nice bass that belted our lures which ranged from 38cm up to about 44cm but all were very stocky and in great condition.
Late in the afternoon we decided again (determined) to try and get a toga interested.Went back to one of the many areas we saw them and threw small poppers.I FINALLY got a strike from a small fella and landed him.Landed him on a home made thong popper which was even more satisying.
All up a great day and i think the call has already been made to head back next week....

    Cheers
    Pete

That's a nice bag of bass there mate.

What lure did the damage? And were you just fishing the timber in the basin or did you venture up any of the arms?

    Regards
