    Re: tweed bait

there are a few reefs close to the entrance that hold bait, haven't got a mark for it but been there on a charter boat. it was about 500m off the shore straight in front of the VMR. best to look with your sounder as i'm not sure if the recent swell has moved more sand over it. for all i know it might have waves breaking on it now!!
another popular spot is the pumping jetty on the south side. I'm not keen on it as i regularly surf there and have seen a few boats nearly caught by sneaky waves when they get too close. Another reef midway between the Bar and Nine mile holds good bait. I've got slimeys and yakkas here before and have fished it for squire and tuna. I'm gonna give it a go on sunday too! but i just use plastics now. sorry no marks with me.....there all at home.
    Cheers, Roo.
