Tonight I used a clear grub with speckle's in it and caught two flathead. Only small one's 35cm's but fun none the less. Bream! never caught them at all. Pike love them and tailor wont say no to sp's. I voted flathead.

Imaginary ones apparently...but we're just newbies at this sp stuff (bait all the way up til now)

Hmmm... I went flathead but only because my top two choices, barra and mangrove jack, weren't on the list.
I guess we're a bit spolit up here in NQ.
My PB for flathead was only a couple of weeks ago and she went 68cm. Was caught on a 2" squidgy wriggler in bloodworm. I didn't think it would have been worth a fish that size going for something so small.

That is a lovely fish Richard, well done.
If men are from Mars, and women are from Venus, politicians must be from uranus ?
Best thing about that capture was the fact that it happened with less than a rod length of line off the reel. I didnt see the fish sitting on the bottom but saw it come up off the bottom and snaffle the lure.
At first i didn't realise what was going on and was half way saying to my mate on the boat "come and look at this" and then it just grabbed it and took off. With only about 3 winds and a bit of outgoing drag I had the fish in the boat.
Really interesting when you get to see the fish take the lure as well.
