winch installation? also registering a trailer

Just got a new winch for a 80 series landcruiser. Its got a TJM steel Bullbar.
It says to install the winch straight on the bullbar. But the bullbar is only about 4mm thick. Is it the norm to whack em straight on the bar with no backing plate? its a 10000lb winch and it'll be used pulling the 4x4 aswell as a 1.5tonne trailer. Anyone had much experience with these?

My second question is registering a trailer. It comes in around 800kgs unloaded and between 1.2 and 1.5tonnes loaded. where would I go to get a safety cert for the trailer? Im fairly sure you need one for trailers above 750kgs correct?

On the Bull bar side winch compatible bull bars normally have holes for the winch to poke out(top and front)
From what I'm led to believe some winches will have a bracket system that bolts onto the chassis to take most of the strain off the bull bar.

On the rego side yes you do need a roadworthy for anything over 750. Most servos mechanics have roadworthy stations. The ones that do have a sign out the front stating they do roadworthies. You could also try places like brake/ exhaust specialist for some reason allot of them also have roadworthies.

P.S. For the roady you could also try caravan places as they do roadies on their caravans

I have a winch compatible bar on my hilux from custom alloy,to fit a winch I need a winch plate mounted to chassis inside the bar,I would suggest you will need the same.
I have been quoted about $250 to $300 to supply and fit.
For trailer rego try a trailer manufacturer to ask where you get rwc.
