What fisherman do when it's too windy to fish

After a few weeks of wind and not much fishing I started to get a few ideas about how to fill in my time apart from looking after the boys and all the domestic stuff arrr

So out comes the note pad and a pen ........ a few minutes later I have come up with an idea for the "mother of all filleting tables"

I had the frame here from past projects so a solid base was easy...

I went to a every mans favorite store (bunnings) and got some form ply, fittings and a tap.

The boss at work had a new dubble sink that he gladly donated after a fishing trip

I had a light and some S/S sheet and s/s pipe for the pole here

and of to work I went.....Robbie at allycraft in Darwin folded up the S/S sheet for me and I did the rest incuding the light.

I am very happy with the finished product.... I now own a s/s topped filleting table with running water, double sink, water proof bug off light and a slops bin.

Here are some pictures of it.... never again will I have a sore back from filleting on a bech that is too low.

Now I just need this wind to go away and there will be some scales in the yard instead of kites

Good filleting table . Im always in trouble useing the laundry sink.

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

I have no problem in knowing what to do when it's blowing a gale...
The cook has horses so there goes a fair whack of any spare time repairing this building that. She wants a horse float now

And speaking of past projects...this camp is full of projects...past, present and future so any spare time shouldn't really be spare time.
Which end of the 'dungeon' do I start at??
I intend on living for-ever....so far so good

Its never too windy to go fishing IMO.You just have to pick your location where to fish.

    Never too windy BS

We Darwin type people are use to nice build up weather..... not 25KNTS +

went out today and it was just slop....was to hard to see the tuna jumping in the white water

I will stay home tomorrow and put led lights on the boat trailer and even mow the grass...
