1st Wide Mouthed Bass

The missus and I managed a bass fishing trip in Central Luzion last weekend and caught out 1st wide mouth bass. 7 hrs to travel 185km was not quite the trip to the lake we were after though. Most went back into the lake but the guide kept a couple to feed his family.

Bdowdy - they hit the plastics pretty hard and then can get pretty acrobatic. Out of 16 fish hooked we managed to get about ten to the boat and lost three of those when they saw the boat; lots of leaps and head shakes means they are pretty good at throwing the hooks. Apparently you have to try and get them to the boat pretty green otherwise the longer the fight the more likely they are to get off.

what grow bigger the small mouth bass or the large mouth?
im pretty sure the large mouth do but im not sure
