Gamakatsu octopus in all sizes exclusively. For ganging, Mustad, although I am trialling the gamakatsu gangsters but have reservations about them as they seem a bit thin and soft. Used to use Owner.

    I have boated a 2 metre+ shovelly on a gammy occy size 2/0

I reckon Occy circles are unbeatable on the bottom, especially for pearlies and true turns are great for floaters.

We bought bulk Eagle Claw 6/0s, 8/0s and 9/0s at Swains for 2 years in a row and never had any problems with them.

Its odd you didnt put gamakatsu in as an option. In the takle shops Ive been in they sell level par to most fishermen to the mustard. Dont take that as a critics remark. Just an obvo.

I reckon the gams are an awesome hook fullstop

    Mustards are a great backup.

Re: What hooks do you use ( Offshore )

nothing but gamakatsu. Octupus circle are dynamite on trout, sweetlip etc.

    octopus for live baiting.

the gamakatsu seem to have a sharper point, i used to use mustad until i switched.

I find eagle claw trebles to be terrible they just straighten when loaded up with gt's or bludgers.

VMC trebles are damn fine though

Gamakatsu or Mustad, only Chemically sharpened, only octopus or circle for the bottom,

    Truturn for the floating pilly.
