    Hi Cam,
I'm not familiar with Blackbird flat camp, but was down on the Macleay over easter. The river is low and very clear due to no rain. No suprise. I imagine the bass would be heading to salt water from now on to spawn.

    Hi Cam
Blackbird Flat has BBQs Toilets and a bbq area with a large roof over
it also has a rough boat ramp. Fishing down river from the camp in a large 3km long lagoon is worthwhile. There is no camping fee,s and is usually a quiet place
although longweekends you wount have the place to yourself.
Divers during the day and surface crawlers at dust produce good fish
bush flies may be anoying over the summer months.
    Cheers

Great place to camp and the fishing is ok but most bass will be down below Belgrave Falls at West kempsey now.
Fishing the brackish water down there is the place to go for bass.
As FlyingFox said, the bush flies will drive you insane this time of year,be prepared to have to eat all meals inside your car.
The flies will actually swarm over your meat while its still cooking on the bbq.
Also be super careful driving the road to the reserve, its very narrow and extremely dangerous.
Take good canoes and you will have a nice time, the river there is just beautiful.
