I could be wrong but I believe you've got yourself a Blubber-Lip Bream there. Caught one for myself on New Years Eve in the upper reaches of the Coomera River around the pylons of the Train Bridge. Lucky you threw it back because they are horrible eating but great fighting.
Cheers,

Mate, that is a "mowie", mother in law fish, blubber lip bream etc.
Hard pulling fish, specially on light gear, I would drop it in the esky, but would bleed, gut and gill straight away to enhance table quality
cheers

Blubber-lip Bream, could also be a Sombre Sweetlip. Almost identical.
