Hi,does anyone know any downrigging techniques for lures without having to go and buy downriggers?

Easy... just run a heavy sinker aprox 1 meter in front of lure and if you got a good sounder you can see what depth ya #lure is running at.
Down side is.. It's hard to get the lure back off snags sometimes. Will work well if trolling with electric in impoundments.

thx les, what weight sinker would you recommend and what style, id imagine a ball sinker might cause to much drag in the water?

Start off with aprox 60 grams and work up if required.
Ball sinkers are OK...
