    AWOONGA TRIP

    My Cobber and I fished AWOONGA the week leading up to Christmas and had a fantastic time as some of our happy snaps will testify. As suggested by member "AWOONGA" the boat ramp was not high on my list of things to do but the exersize was usefull in weight reduction!
    Never the less we would recommend Awoonga to anyone wishing to catch a large BARRA. The gear took a bit of a hammering and at least three lures will never swim again. We were surprised at the number of fish over the 85cm to 110cm plus range and managed to net and release 14 in total and kept 2. We will be returning very soon for another shot at these big girls.

    Good fishing guys, I should make it up there just prior to the full moon for a stint at the buggers. Good to hear they still chewing.

    Nice fish Outrigger, well done.

    I'm heading to Awoonga at the end of Jan(after school hols) for my first trip to the area, have just bought my first powerboat and am keen to give it a whirl.

    Just wondering what lures you used, I'm after a few hints.

    Cheers

    Re: AWOONGA TRIP

    Mick, had success with ;
    Killalure barrabait +20 silver/black
    Killalure +8 gold/black
    Halco poltergeist 80 5 meter+
    Classic 180s+10 2hook black/orange head
    Predatek viper silver/black

    Plus we gave a lot more a swim but these seem to do best in the deep water off rocky point
    Hope this helps for your trip.
    Regards Paul
