red claw

g'day was just wanting some info on red claw. are they around se qld, if so what do you guys use to to catch them.

Just do a site search on 'redclaw' there's been a few string on them recently.

I wont give too much away as i catch these things by the hundreds in my area. If you have a boat and a sounder its a plus. Drop a Opera house net in about 7m of good clean water, snags, and inside the net tie a sock filled with chook pellet's or leftovers, thats basic but i aint giving too much away. Or if you dont have a boat go to a bank with snags and throw the trap out as far as you can, but the depth wont be correct and you wont get as many.
