getting reels serviced
hey guys
just want to get an idea where everyone get's their reels serviced, I was goin got get it done in mossops but it costs 30 bucks!
SO if you know of a good place to get the reels serviced in Brisbane for a good price then put up here

Sounds ok to me last one I got done cost $60 but they replaced 3 bearings. If it is not that old have a go at doing it yourself I do my own and every 12 to 18 months get the pros to look at them.

Go and talk to Neil Griffiths at Jones Tackle - he just did 2 for me and did a real good job. Price was reasonable as well. Davo.

What sort of reels are we talking about???
Paying someone to service a reel!!!
Reels are very basic once opened up & problems are extremly simple to rectify. The only thing you may want on hand is an exploded view of the internals if you happen to forget how a particular spring went for eg.
If I were to rate a difficulty for reels it would be -
1. Baitcasters ( Only because they are small)
2. Overheads
3. Threadlines
4. fly / centerpin reels
I would liken doing reel maintenance to model building, they can only go together 1 way & either they will work or they won't.
