    advice on on shimano trinidad

    G,day All,
I am in the market for buying a new rod, I will be using it with a Abu 7000 and i was thinking about getting a Shimano Trinidad. What are people's opinions on these rods or what can anyone suggest that is similar. I will be mainly using it for boat fishing but will still be wanting to use it for casting occasionally. Any help will be appreciated, Thanks Paul.

A few of the boys that I regularly fish with have the Shimano Trinidad rods. Myself included

They are excellent rods IMO, a bit of a supple tip & a butt that puts the hurt on a fish.

We use ours for mainly livebaiting for pelagics such as mackerel, wahoo etc

They handle these with ease. They would also handle fish such as Marlin & sailfish.

I have never used mine for casting, and I reckon it may be a bit short for that. You might want to think about looking at a Livefibre 15kg Overhead or 24kg Overhead rod for that. They are 7 foot & would give that bit more length to get a good cast in.
