tiagra 12 and 16 are the drags waterproof?

anyone seen the specs of these 2 new shimano trolling reels-look like gold boss accurates. as i want to know if the drags are waterproof as the new little penns come out soon and the boss accurates also are great but it value for money im look for and it seems the shimano is as dear as the bosses which r better then them! any one have any info?

Neither the Boss or the Ti 12/16 have waterproof drags.

There is no equivalent to the Ti12/16 in the Accurate range as the Boss series as single speed. Dont know where you got the prices from, but as Accurate dont make a comparable small ATD with the smallest, the ATD6 (comparable to a Ti20/30) being only $2300 AUS compared to the Ti16 $800.

Both the ATDs and the BOSS have twin drag, and the Ti16 but not the Ti12 have a 'double drag plate system'. I havent seen the ATDs in action but the the BOSS 665 loaded with 16kg of drag is quite good, but not as smooth as the the Ti16 at the same level. I'm fairly sure that the ATD6 would be as smooth as the Ti if not better.
