Which knot to tie.

Could anyone tell me the best knot to tie to join braid say 30lb braid to 60lb mono. trace.And also best knot for trace to lure.Thanks -Beatle.

I use an Allbright knot for my braid to mono to braid etc.

go out and buy the geff wilsons super line knot book well worth it also i recomend getting his knots and rigs book
should be able to get them through K Mart

Double uni to join the braid to leader and then a perfection loop to attach the lure, either that or tie on a hawian snap.

I use a jigging knot, which is a hybrid one. If you have geoff wilsons book, it starts as a
1. bimini in the braid
2. tie a shock tippet & leader knot (ie overhand knot in the heavy leader, then feed the braid loop through the overhand knot and wrap it around the heavy leader 10-20 times, and then back 10-20 times back through the overhand knot)
3. Cut the heavy leader fairly close and finish it with a hufnagle closure or immaculate connection (again in geoff wilsons book) which is a series of half hitches with the braid tag, then a wrap the braid tag end around the main line back to the knot several times and tighten. Cut the tag close.

I've used this for 60lb braid to 150lb leader and have only broken it outside the knot. Its small and casts ok, since it has no heavy mono tag.

its very close to the slim beauty but i wrap back down the main line as well as up, and i knot on the other side of the overhand knot. heres a link to the slim beautyhttp://www.pakula.com.au/62slimbeauty.htm

here goes

1. tie an overhand knot with two wraps

2. wrap the loop of braid from the bimini through the overhand knot in the same direction as the leader wraps

3. wrap the braid loop around the mono leader 10-20 times

4. wrap the braid loop back down 10-20 times

[team_mongo]

5. then through the leader overhand knot twice

6. close the overhand knot with pliers, it should buckle into a figure eight before closing
