Re: PixResizer (photo resizing software)
I just use Paint, open the photo, click edit to open it in paint, go across the the 'image' menu and select stretch/skew. From there you can reduce the overall size of the picture, without losing quality, as long as you don't make it bigger.
Ie, if you want the picture 1/2 the size, enter 50 and 50, this will reduce each dimension by 50%, giving you a small pic, but the same pixels.
Re: PixResizer (photo resizing software)
or for anyone using MS Office, open your pic with office picture viewer. Select, 'Picture', then 'Compress Picture' and then select the web page option. Presto.
Re: PixResizer (photo resizing software)
With Microsoft power toys resizer for XP you simply highlight the unopened image and right click selece resize and then a size output then ok. All done in less than three seconds and it creates a new image at the resized size so you do not alter the original. Can't be simpler.
Re: PixResizer (photo resizing software)
i use shrinkpic
the best thing about it you have to do nothing
when uploading a pic to ausfish for arguments sake, just click the picture you want, and upload, the program automatically resizes the pic to ausfishs requirements
also makes sending emails with lots of photos easier
free too

Re: Resizing images for use on the chat boards
I don't use anything at all on Ausfish it seems we now have an automatic resizer behind the scenes, just upload any oversized pic and like magic it will just get posted.

Re: Resizing images for use on the chat boards
Now i use Microsoft Image Resizer powertoy.
It's only a 500kb program, and free .
Once installed it becomes part of XP and appears as you right click on any thumbnail image.
You can get it from www.microsoft.com
too easy..............

Re: Resizing images for use on the chat boards
yeah me too, irfranview, easy to use, works a treat and free, and I have almost anything in the known world at my disposal, and find it good. Oh and FNQ I think you have just been lucky, I dont think such an automatic Ausfish resizer exists.
Re: Resizing images for use on the chat boards
Often you may wish to crop a pic, so what do you guys use for that.

Re: Resizing images for use on the chat boards
When adding images it is best to use the advanced post method. Just click on the |Go Advanced" button, bottom right.
That way the image is shown, not just a link to the image
