Dawson River Festival 2011

The Dawson River Festival is planned for September 2011, the festival is a new initiative of towns that live along the Dawson River (Taroom, Theodore, Moura and Baralaba) as a tourist event to attract and include “grey nomads” (Caravanning tourist that camp on the Dawson River). Each town is to host an event on the Dawson River on one weekend (i.e. Festival starts in Baralaba they celebrate the first weekend with their Annual Fishing Competition; then Moura the following weekend with Annual Skiing Competition; then Theodore showcases on the next week with riverside markets and finishes the last weekend of September 2011 with Taroom Race day weekend).
