Just got back from kmart and the sale is great....25% off all rods and tackle and accessories......

Hamza, they seem to have them very regularly, I picked up an ugly stick for $52.00 2 or 3 weeks ago. Just wandered in, they had a 30% off sale and also had the rod I wanted at a very low price.

Just need to keep an eye out.

Went there last night and stocked up on gear. SP's, poppers, line, sinkers, hooks.

The only thing I don't like from K-mart are their rods.

And their lack of variety and quality stuff in general. # :P

I did pick up one of those strap on rod holders with the stainless steel pin for the slot in your gimble for about 6 bucks though. #8)

Yeah thats right. There are a few things (big name brands like Mustard) which they stock. But they only ever seem to stock one "good" brand at a time.

What is the Rex Hunt range like? Apart from being overpriced?

Has anyone else noticed they have almost the exact same range as BigW?

They vary a bit from store to store, the KMART up at Sunshine Plaza Maroochydore has a much better range of fishing gear than here is Bris, as an example it is often hard to find a hook any bigger than a 7/0 in KMART here , but up there 10/0 and bigger is no probs.
Also Big W is definately cheaper if there is no sale on, and the range of gear is better also. I am sure Rex (the tosser) doesn't make hooks, they are just Jarvis Walker or something re-badged, and not worth paying any extra for.

Speaking of Rex... I've watched the last two shows of his and in both he has either destroyed a rod, or lost it overboard.

He he he he hoooooo.... "There goes $1500 into the blue yonder. Oh well, I was given it anyway".... OR.... "Whoops sorry mate just dropped a trevally on your carbon rod.... Wasn't too strong there was it"?
