I went to a tackle shop today, and was looking for a new rod for lure fishing, they recommended me Pflueger, does anyone knows about this brand?

Is this a good rod?

Thanks

One of #the best barra fishermen in QLD (IMHO) uses shakepseare (ugly stick, pflueger) exclusively and he gives his gear big work outs.

Hey guys

I've bought the set today, it's 3-6 kg line, 7 foot, with a Shimano 2500 reel and 10 pounds fireline, and the guy also gave me another spool of line for free, the whole set came to $180.

I don't know if this price is okay or not, but I really do like the feel of the rod, if the weather is good this afternoon, I'll give it a try!

by the way, does anyone knows what is IM8 or IM6 graphite means??

Mate IM6 and IM8 refers to the difference in modulus of the graphite and how it performs i think. Pflueger is all distributed by shakespeare and i've got a mate using some of their gear and he says that it goes alright. Been established since 1881 or something like that... I think that is what i read in the catalogue but maybe i'm wrong cause that is a long time.

What shimano reel did you get with it?

What shimano reel did you get with it?

I'm tipping the 2500 :) [smiley=wiseguy.gif]

Thanks for the info on IM8/IM6, I'd wondered that myself.

Good luck,
Mike

Thanks for all the replies guys!
I've tried it this afternoon at Cleveland, it is really light, and the hardness of the rod tip is what I am after, but no luck though~
Anyway, thanks for all the help!

Pfleuger appear to be popular in Victoria. They were at all the tackle stands at the boat show earlier this year. Very few Shimano though. Funny how different brands can take off at different areas.
