Have just received a Calcutta 700 as a gift ;D ;D and was wondering what types of fishing other fishers are using this reel for. Also interested in what rod is being used with it. Any info would be appreciated. 8-) 8-)

Hi Don
I`ve had a 700 calcutta for about 9 months and it has become my most used reel. I have it on a Live Fibre 20 kg PNG Black Bass rod with 15kg
Bionic braid. I use it for trolling hard bodied lures for macks, cobia etc.
Also use it for floating pilchards, slimy mackeral baits and bottom fish with it too.I did put a set of Carbontex drag washers from Jack Erskine
in to up the drag weight. very strong and handy reel. Mine is the "S"
model, (no levelwind)
cheers
Reggy

Are you fishing from a boat or land based? Its a good general beach fishing reel. You could also use estuary fishing for jewies. It makes a good light offshore boat reel for bottom fishing with braided line, light trolling and floater fishing for snapper.

All of my fishing is from a boat. Thanks for the comments so far.
