[smiley=help.gif] Rust in Bearing and inner ring

I dropped my spinning reel on the beach and left it as is after just washing with fresh water. Yesterday after a week or so I opened it to find that the inner ring and the cylindrical bearings had been usted. I tried cleaning it with Shellite but could not remove all of it. It is not a bad rust and has not eaten into the metal but there are black spots. Is there a way of cleaning this up. Your advise will be appreciated.

had the same thing with a daiwa reel that a fish pulled in the drink.
the bearing thats rusted is the 1 way bearing. replace it not that expencive.
cleaning it with loads of wd40 or similar will free it up but will grind forever more.
