Went through three saratoga 2-5kg rods in as many weeks, brought them off ebay - snapped in half catching 40cm squire, do yourself a favour and spend the money buying a quality one!

Hi all,
also had problem with Saratoga 6kg spin rod.Front section of
two piece was bent like a bananna.Sent it back for replacement but the replacement was also faulty (very poor blank) This thing will break at the ferrel it's only a matter of when.
If they give you a replacement every thing is ok or so they think.Read their concept of feedback it's a excercise in retoric.
The lure of cheap gear hay.
Now i fell like a fish
hook, line and sinker

i have a 12 to 15kg saratoga rod...........and still going after 12 months. caught school mac, snapper to 50cm and sweetlip and cod on it. So far hasnt failed and i cant say anything bad about it. Still doesnt mean its gonna last years, I might have just got a good one out of the batch.

By the way, reel on it is a saratoga J60 overhead, caught the fish on that reel

Ha, LOL, yeah Mike, a bit off topic!

Bit of a personal joke i guess. Its a greeting a few close mates and i use, sort of instead of saying "How ya going", we open with that one. The usual response varies from 'under control 'to 'Festering'. Don't ask me how it started - it was too long and too many beers ago.

Hope that 'clears it up'.

I bought a saratoga baitcast rod off ebay aa couple of months ago and it's a good rod. It's landed a few squire since bought (40-50cm squire) I honestly expected it to snap on first hook up but it suprised me. I put a thread on here before I bought it and the general concenses was "crap" but I bought it anyway as a bit of an experiment. I'm gonna buy another one soon.I also bought a reel off vic trading to put on it. cost stuff all and it's still going as well.
Cheers TT

I bought one some months ago and it's as good as the day I bought it. Looks magic too, a 2-4 kg job.

Haven't used it yet.
