Hi guys. Just wondering which lures you thought would be best for low speed trolling from a kayak. I will be trolling at about 4-7 km/h (until exhaustion sets in). How much are these lures and how far out the back should they be trolled? would they be better than trolling a livie? Cheers G.

G'day
Any of your deep diving hard bodies, some with maximum action at slowest speeds.
The flatz ratz rings a bell, but there are litteraly thousands out there.
Best of asking the kayak fishermen like canoedle and the like.

Hi Grich,
I troll SX 40's behind my kayak, usually about 30 metres behind the yak. And I peddle as slow as I can get away with allowing the lure to work. I also troll an SP on my other rod, using a jig head heavy enough to bounce the SP off the bottom.
I suppose it also depends on your target fish. If I was trolling for species like tailor or mackerel or pelagics I would be trolling at a fair pace.

Would love to catch a massive spanish Maceral. Would be happy with just about anything. What speed do livies need to be trolled? What are the best livies to use? Cheers. G.
