Hi guys, I'm after a bit of help as I'm trying to do some repairs and maintenance on some of my gear. Just wondering if anyone could explain, or even show me a link on how to bind a tip runner?

Thanks, Benno

most tips have a pipe on them, find the appropriate size (take old one with you when buying new one)
remove old tip by heating it, use a ciggy lighter, (the only thing they are good for ::), not too much heat as it will affect the rod blank. use a piece of rag to grab heated tip & try & pull off, might take a couple of goes as you will be being careful not to have too much heat ;)
using 5 min araldite glue new tip on & carefully align with other guides & reel seat before it drysif you are careful the tip binding should survive & not need re-doing..

For extra strength after glue has set you can.....

Wrap cotton or similar around runner and work your way down and onto rod about half cm. Smear some glue over this then work the cotton back up the tip. I did this for about 3 layers many years ago and had no problems with it.
