Predatek Woomera's or the Predatek Boomerangs are a good Jack lure.

Try a selection of Plastics too... Just watch the weight of the Heads' you use so your not crash bombing the bottom.

Thanks for the replies fellers........I will put some of 'em in my chrizzy wish list.

I was talking to an old timer who used to live up North who's lure fished for 25 years. He said that he's got over 200 lures but in the last 10 years or so he's never pulled anything out of his box other than the gold bomber. He said that it's a proven lure for him and he has no need of any other as it's caught him no end of different species.

Mate the goldbomber is one of the best lures you can get.. you just need to change the hooks on them. I don't know anyone who is into lure fishing here in Darwin who doesn't carry 1 or 2 in there tackle box. They will catch everything with scales on it.

At the moment for me it is any $20 bream lure attached to 4lb main line and 6lb leader while chasing bream in the GC canals ;D :'( has cost me 3-4 lures a trip lately, but when I pull out the heavy gear and jack lures I get squat.

That's hilarious Ian,

I thought it was just me. I've snapped bream jig hooks, straightened em & just plain lost em to what I'm assuming were red devils around the GoldCoast, all on 4lb braid. Have also managed to fluke a couple to the boat, so I'm pretty sure I know the culprit.

Lures have been mostly softies, including grubs & flickbaits, usually in the more natural colours.

Can't say its boring flicking for bream around the GC.

Cheers,
Cozzie.
