Looking to go and chase some pelagics on Saturday and was wondering if anyone has ideas about the best lures to use.
Have caught them on metal slugs but was talking to someone the other day who said there was a Rapala which could be retrieved quickly and smoothly and also mentioned soft plastics if the fish become a bit fussy.
Would welcome any input

I mainly use metal slugs and sometimes switch to poppers for fun although the results seem to slow down for me. However when they are being fussy I switch to snapbacks (a virtually unbreakable type of soft plastic), andslow down the retrieve alot and try and make the thing look like a wounded baitfish. You will be surprised by the results this gets. Speend isn't everything.

I like metal lures for macks about 3mm thickness, 75-100mm in length, they flutter on the drop and have more action in general. For tuna the metal slug or baitfish profile seems to go better.

G'day Marzoe, I use a lead slug that a mate of mine makes, the macs can't resist 'em,

Here are 3 out of the 4 sizes he makes, with 3 design variations, there are a heap more colour and variations to choose from, you just tell him what you need and he can do it.

My mate green put my lures on here. They are all made with 218 test pound mason wire, never had one pull or break wire. They can hold my own body weight and I am 90kgs. Price wise depends on rigged or unrigged and quantity + postage. Can do a variety of colours. If interested contact me here on ausfish.

LOL yep, #I too have had first hand experience at using " knucklehead's " slugs and they work the treat, outperform alot of the brand name off the shelf slugs thats for sure!

But in all seriousness Cobia1's slugs truly are a great item to have in the tacklebox.
