Hey all, with today's success on the spinnerbait, I'm keen to know if anyone ties their own stinger hooks and if so, what knots they use and what hooks.

Karl,
I've tried tying on a small (no.6) stinger hook (single) using a snell connection. was not very successfull with this. have used the gamagatsu spinnerbait trailer hook since with excellent hookup rate. it's a big hook but last weekends trip to toonumbar it took 2 bass barely bigger than your hand. they didn't mind hitting it and it didn't miss. Previously i would register hits with missed hookups but now its on every time.

The dacron loop stingers would work but you may lose some of the snag resistant qualities of the spinnerbait.

should find them at most tackle stores that sell spinnerbaits or gama hooks.
I got mine from "the mart".

They're also handy for your mackerel and tuna slugs (20 - 45gm) as they have a large eye that doesn't jam on a split ring.

cheers, roo
