A few years ago I saw an overhead rod where the line passed into the center/Middle and out the top of the rod rather than passing through eyelets... Yes I typed that correctly a rod with no eyelets.

Did any one in Ausfish land own one of these. If so how did they go, why did they disappear from the market.

they were a bit of a "trend", still available ,although they are not all that spectacular to use, but hey, if you like it and it feels good "do it"

just thinkin' there are people out there who nearly sh!t their pants if the line can even TOUCH the blank on a "normal" rod, gees they would never use something like that huh!

Yeah, Daiwa Interline.
A large WA internet store has a 5'6", 24 - 36kg model still listed at $230 or so.
Revolutional concept!

I've got one mated to an ABU 2500C.

Great outfit for night fishing from my canoe as you can't wrap the line around runners.

Just have to be a bit careful with knots used to join main line to leader. some knots are bulky and catch inside the rod.

Theyre not as weird as those Rods that have the runners that spiral around the Rod instead of being in a strait line - whats the idea of them anyone know?? think Bushy came up with the idea

I think the idea of the Roberts wrap (Spiral wrap) is to keep the line off the blank useing less runners for overheads, although Bushy uses it I think it'd be a safe bet to say that some bloke (probably a yank) called Roberts came up with the idea.

they were in use LONG before "Bushy" ever used one on TV (although he may have used em years ago like most did at some time) I am not all that coninced that they really offer any advantage, be it ever so small.
