15 knot W-SW wind kept swell down, but put some chop on the water. We didn't see any schools of fish working the surface at all. The mackerel were there - I had several bite offs of yakkas on the bait jigs - but they wouldn't take any lures or baits (live or dead). My brother landed his first longtail of 5.5 kg on 4 kg line on a trolled pilchard on wire, and I was bitten off through 44 lb mono wire after 15 seconds by something which ate my trolled live yakka.
