Fishing Batemans Bay

Gday fisho's,
Heading down to Batemans Bay on the long wekend, and will not be taking the boat. (missus says NO!) Any way, will be staying at the Racecourse beach park and was wondering if anyone could let me know, what the beach is like or where the nearest Rock spots would be to throw a line in. Any tips would also make my day.

snapper rocks at the southern end of Merry Beach used to fish pretty well.
It is a recognised LBG spot with resident kings and passing pelagics.
Haven't fished this spot for about ten years (moved to QLD) but I have fond memories of some great fishing action from this rocky point.

thanks for the help steve, gives me some hope of landing something. will let you know how the old spot goes. Hope i leave with some fond memories myself. ;D
