During last 2 days have pumped for yabbies in Currumbin and Tallebudgera creeks.

Result of 2.5 hours - 15 usable yabbies.

So, are there 'good' and 'bad' seasons for these critters?

Or am I just palin useless? ??? ??? ???

really? have yet to pump in Tallebudgera and not get heaps of yabbies,,,big suckers too, when tide is full out they seem to be pretty deep and its hard work to ge them out, I find it easiest out in the middle sand bars when they are jut getting covered by the incoming tide, brings them to the surface ,, then I jsut pump into the water and let the current carry away the silt, and pick out the yabbies, easy easy :) good luck!

If your looking for Yabbies on the Gold Coast and your land based, try up on the southport spit just to the south of the seaworld Chopper Pad. If your a bit game, swim across the little channel to that sandbank (the one close to where the trawlers pull in near the old Fisherman's wharf pub) with the Island oasis on it as there are plenty of yabbies on that one.

Fishing this location on a summer evening flood tide will produce some cracker whiting :-X :-X
