Gerry my mate from work turned up at home at 3:50am. Then we both headed off to white Island after looking at the wave rider bouys. I thought we have to go to Mud. We got to Mud around 5:20am. First drop i got a 43cm Squire on the drift. A lot of poeple had the same idea that i had about Mud ):. I setup another drift and landed a 51cm Squire. Not much was caught after that as there was too many boats around. We moved to another spot on the southern part of the Island. First cast i got my first keeper Shoolie. it only went 76cm but i was happy with it.
Gerry did well too. he caught his first fish on plastics but it was undersized.
The bay was perfect today and you could have gone anywhere in a 4.2m boat..
I hope everyone esle had the same luck. We had the boat home and cleaned by 11:30am.

We used the ZOOMs in baby Bass and Watermelon 3inch.
1/8th HW jig

I love my ZOOOOOOOOMSSSSS

Good fishin to get a schoolie south end of Mud, I have never considered fishing in that area before, well done! Where were all the crowds? Might help me decide on where to target my next trip.

Cheers,
Scalem

Saw you out there Steven, but with our late start we were keen to get stuck in - which, unfortunately wasn't the case. What do they say? The early bird catches the worm. A 76cm Schoolie is nothing to be sneezed at and those squire fit the description of what I was hoping to catch ::) Well done [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

I went to Mud again today got at the ramp at 3:30am was at spot X at 4am.
I only got 2 keepers today and they where just legal. 1 Squire and sweetlip.
The Bay was perfect the weather was good. The only problem that i can think of was that the wind direction was affecting our drift. Sorry no pictures today could not find the camra :-?

You will find it on this map below. As far as launching ramps go I am sure a friendly local on this forum could assist you.
