Lake Cootharaba Reports ???

Hi,
It's been 10 years since I been there anyone done this Lake so far?

Any good reports?


Do you need Permit as last time 1/2 was Fresh and the other was Salt water, I mean that is 10 years ago anything changed?

$85.00 for full day boat hire, anyone come up with a cheaper Boat Hire? Or is that Pretty Good?

Cheers any advice welcome, any ideas welcome.

i,ve only fished above cootharabah not in the lake proper. plenty of wild bass to be caught after camp 5 ( electric outboard only). you need to get a camping permit from np&ws. if your going to overnight it. you can ring and book and then pay at kinaba (honesty box)at the top of cootharaba.....very beautiful country. i`ve only fished in kin kin creek once a couple of years ago plenty of small tarpon....looks very jacky though.

Are Lures any good for Bass?

I just have caught the usual fish Whiting, Flatheads, Bream,Stingray ohh and 1 Tailor that got away........
