Used to catch the occasional groper down on the NSW South coast, the spear fishos almost cleaned them out.

They are good looking fish, I remember they tasted great!

Roz, That must have been a while ago. It has been illegal to spear Blue Groper in NSW for over 20 years and rightly so as they are pretty docile under water. If you dive south of the Tweed they are in plague proportions. Not so common here in QLD but still a fair few around. Most people leave them alone.
