Webby,

Av a look here for the repeaters. http://www.desertaccess.com.au/html/uhf_repeaters.html

Ch 40 is the General chat and 5 is emergency. Truckies on Pacific between Brisbane and Sydney use 29.

Hope this helps.

John.

Webby,
General info here at ACAwebsite.
http://www.aca.gov.au/consumer_info/fact_sheets/consumer_fact_sheets/fsc20.htm
Emergency channels; 5 / 35
repeater transmit / input info etc.
Was that the sort of stuff you're after, or more like what channel do various clubs or groups use?
Cheers
Jeff

Jeff, The Transmit (TX) freq are the lower numbers (1-8) with 5 being the designated emergency channel/repeater monitored by organisations such as CREST.

The matching repeater receive (RX) freq are 31-38 so one really shouldn't be using 31-38 in simplex mode and especially channel 35 (emergency channel 5). Channel 22 and 23 are also not voice channels so stay away from these.

Cheers, Kerry.

18 caravans 19 yard work 27-28 inner truck chat 29 trucker channle (we call all the narrow brigdes on this one and also and traffic problems that may affect a truck so it is best to stay off this one) 30 another chat 3-5 are your main repeters
but anyone who has had any dealing with the uhf knows that none of this matters as it seem no one cares and uses what ever chanle they want >:(

Channel 7 is another repeater isn't it?

I know my little hand held one picks up some wierd shit on channel 7. Generally on a thursday/friday night on Channel 16 or 17 you'll pick up the hoons around the brisbane, aspley, springwood, milton, and capalaba areas. Then on saturday on 16 and 17 you'll get the same crap on the M1 between brisbane and the gold coast from between 8:30pm and 1am
