Where do I start ???. Don't wanna spend over $700. Do I buy a standard used trailer and modify it. Do I buy a older off road trailer and fix it up. Where do I look and what should I look for? Any advice is appreciated.
Cheers, Jay

I had a 6x4 tradesman trailer built with 18inch high sides, 4 x jerry can holders, nissan rims and leaf springs. I think it was about $900.
I ended up putting a tradesman top on it with a boat rack.
I fitted lights and partitions inside. Installed a fridge and 2 gas bottles and toolbox and spare on the draw bar.
I only had a normal hitch but did not really drag it extreme off road.
I had slipper type springs on mine and they wore away at the retaining metal. I would go a neoprene shackle type next.
I am sure that it would have probably exceeded 750 kg so i think brakes are necessary.
Ensure that the wiring is protected in the frame as the stones just mangle it.
I just had the basic trailer made and as i realized what suited me i modified and added to it to fit my requirements.
I dragged it all up through central oz on about 3000k on corrugated dirt roads with no major dramas.
Keep it simple and it is easy to repair.
Cheers
