Just on the other side of mud island today the Mackrel were at play. We got a few by drifting through the schools with pillies and herring. We chased lots of schools with slugs but they ran soon as we came close.. Typical. I did manage to snare one on a slug but it was mostly by accident. Threw out my slug to lay the line better on the reel and bam got hit. Nice spottie!

Tiger the success came on 65 gram raiders and gawby I always throw my slug out with care ;)

fluorocarbon 20lb leader
30gram slugs in shiny metal or white with sparkles :) see mackmauler slugs
65g raiders ? way too big IMO
