What a day Saturday started out. Departed Scarborough boat ramp at 0300 as promised. Met up with Mancubus and headed to Bulwer. Weather couldn't be any better. Cruised over at around 3000rpm and 30km/hr just waiting for Razorline and Big Tinnie to catch up to us. They took the short cut across the banks and headed straight to Hutchies.

Anyway we finally get to Hutchies and tried some bottom bashing and got a quick call from Razorline (Liam) and said start trolling they're ON.

Both Lee and myself had no idea as to what to do but we gave it a shot. Had a few strikes but as we later learned the drags were set too soft.

Then it happens "BANG, WIZZ, RUN, OH SH!T!!!" we're on.

What a feeling to see such a speedster surcumbe to the stopping power of a TLD25 loaded with 30lb braid backed up with 80lb Jenkai running to a steel trace attached to a dark coloured skirted lure.

By this time it was around 0800 and then as Bugman predicted, Queen Street came to Hutchies.

Time to leave.

I am now addicted and am trying to organise a mid weeker when the traffic is at work.

Pics to follow.

Cheers

Mark

Yep, great day out despite getting bloody seasick. I'll make sure I'm more thoroughly drugged for next time. Good learning experience too with the 'hoo's (trolling speed, setting the spread etc.) I examined my skirted lure which got hit twice but failed to hook-up - the 100lb mono is cut up to buggery - somehow they avoided the hook though! I'll have to re-rig it, this time with two smaller hooks rather than one big one. Might go the wire option as well.

Can't believe how many boats were out there by 8am. The traffic successfully shut the bite down!

Not wrong. The missus is heading up to Yepoon in the next couple of weeks. I can feel a mid weeker comming on.

Very well done, nothing like a plan coming off. Great conditions too - very very envious.
