Headed up to Turkey Friday night with plans to do some reef fishing. Had stuie, steve and my wife Toni on board. Headed out into a stiff northerly wind which made the conditions a bit average. Pushed on to one of our close in spots about 20 mile out and had a fish there for a couple hours. Got a few fish, but with the conditions improving we pushed on out to Fitzroy area. Started picking up some good fish at most spots we tried. By lunch time the conditions had improved heaps so we headed outside and started working a few patches of reef, picking some nice trout, lipper and mixed reefies. Plan was to head back to the lagoon for the night but with conditions so good we anchored up outside and put the night in out there. The fishing died off after dark with mainly hussar coming in. We awoke to glassy conditions, and with everyone getting a pretty good sleep we started fishing again. We worked our way back to our close in spot catching good fish at most places. Stopped off a the wreck on the way in and jigged up some trevally. Got our bag limit of fish and a few other species such as cobia and grassies. Cleaned the fish and boat, packed up the house and we were back in the car by 3.30pm.

Rob,
Did do a quick troll run down the outside of lamont looking for bottom ground to fish, but nothing on the lures. Weren't many birds about and only a few small schools of tuna working. Was even hard work to get one for bait. The schoolies and spotties that had been on the wreck and in close over the last month or so also have moved on. Maybe headed your way.

Stuart.
