Left the ramp about 4.15 am and was suprised at the number of cars already in the carpark - thought we might have slept in too late. :o

Bay was almost glass and no bar to speak of. Headed wide to find some blue water - lots of dirty green in close. Water temp got up to 27 deg in places. Hooked a decent wahoo early, followed by a dirty old mac tuna. Lots of talk on the radio from the boys further north - sounded like the bottom bashers were doing OK, but the surface guys were struggling. Started to think it would be a long day.

Hayden grabbed the next reel to scream and 10mins later crosses off another species from his "Must Catch" list. Seems there are quite a few Dollies round at the moment. Ended up with half a dozen for the day all released bar 1 - on the way back in we took 3 in 10 mins.

Also had a Black swim in and grab the long corner, pull some drag, drop it, fall back to the long rigger, pull some drag and then drop that as well. Couldn't temp him by working the lure and he sank from view escorted by a barrage of expletives. That's two in two weeks for us that just haven't seemed to hit the lures with any gusto. Nice to know they're out there but not sure what we have to do to get one to stick. :'( ;D

Nice ones Brook, good to you letting them go not much worse than seeing a fish chockas with roe as they are at this time of yr if you dont really need em, only good to eat fresh anyway. bring on the blacks, surely one will be pinned soon.

Are you using singles or twins in the lures, no mention of you being connected to the dolfins, dam they go nuts dont they.

Single hook rigs on all my lures.

Dollies seemed particularly acrobatic today. :o ;D

My work mate caught male one on charter last weekend at deep tempest and its also on my list to catch one this summer
I was out there too it was had to catch live bait at the ground
end up at the 35's caught 3 squire from 45cm to 65cm and a parrot near the sevens
while even out thier a school of them when pass me at the 35's i threw a lure at them but they didn't take it o'well next time
outsider they must have been plenty of them where you where and doing there acrobatic's that would have been fun
