calm avo in cairns

headed out late avo as work got in the way in the morning .
i thought it would be a good chance to get a few marks in that calm water and give the outboard a turn over.
sure enough only took me 15min to find that sunkn trawler i was looking for. might i add not even close to the gps marks one of the local tackle shop hotspot book that they sell and i had bought!
anyway dropped anchor and burley bucket and a pilly. 2min later got a nice fingermark and from then on the reds were on the chew but they were all around the 35cm..obviously 20cm short of the BBQ. then the sharks appeared and that was the end.
end of the day got what i went for and tomorrows dinner a bonus.

Mate got a spot like that to you have to be right on thjose wrecks to get a good feed. You know the rule but where you find one fingermark youll find more live squid will do the trick

Nice fish Dan. By the look of that water I'd say many boaties are blowing about 2months of dust off their gear. This probably wasn't the best weekend for me to be working!
