Banks Saturday

Decided on a late start Saturday morning with the weather report the night before. Arrived at Mooloolaba around 10am for a 4500rpm run to the banks. Conditions were great, but the current was running hard in the 80-90m water making it hard to hold bottom. Ended up with 6 snappery squire between 3-5kg. Forgot the camera. Plenty of fish on the sounder but no real action. Probably one of the slowest trips we've had out there. The water had that real greeny colour to it. Left about 4.30 when a NNW came through at a good 15 knots. Good day out with good conditions and gave the boat a run.

At least your efforts werent in vain luke! 6, 3-5kg fish makes for a great feed.
What part of the banks were you fishing ? i went out there friday night and got back yesterday arvo, we fished the northern end from 60- 100 meters and never had any current the entire time? :-? ...foxy

sounds like a decent effort there Luke pitty the fish wouldn't play 8-)we will have to catch up

Dave, we fished between the south and centre of the banks. by the sounds of it we should of pushed a fair bit north.

If I remember right the hooks pulled on that one #8-) #Must have been a small pearly #:-? .... easy to pull the hooks on those # ::) #lol

We fished the banks on Thursday and there was hardly any current. In fact the current disappeared altogether with 2 hrs to go to the bottom and the fish went off the bite complete :'(ly.
