The outside reefs and wrecks are producing fantastic Black Jew at present. Harbour wrecks are also producing well with fish around the 1.2m common. Jigging seems to be the best way IMHO and believe it or not jews are becomming a pest when targetting other reef fish. Hauls of 12 jew to a boat are not uncommon and some people are shifting to aviod catching them because of the danger of injury to fish being brought up from 30+ metres. Big trevors, Snapper and other reefies are out there but the snapper (finger mark type) are a tad smaller than a month ago, or at least what I have caught are.

Shit bins full of rain have hammered Darwin over the last week and the runoff will be later this year. Good Barra in Shoalbay creeks, and Darwin arms. Dropped 2 good barra in a few minutes casting while waiting for crab pots to fill at Howard river on weekend.

Bad news is that pro crabbers have moved into Shoalbay after stuffing the gulf and other places. Local and visitor crabbers are angry about this.

Will see what tonights high tide brings on the harbour.
